Thank you for participating in our first national 
conference in Washington, DC on “Meeting the 
Promise of Brown.”  As educators, legislators, 
community leaders and education stakeholders, 
we look forward to your continued support 
in this vital work with us over the next five 
years, during which time we will develop and 
implement a national plan for education equity 
for African American and other students of color. 
We also hope that you will encourage other like-
minded individuals to join this work in your local 
community in order to address the barriers to 
educational equity for Black students throughout 
the nation.  In the coming weeks, we will post a 
link at ncoee.org, where we will reach out to you 
concerning our follow-up meetings. This work is 
critical to the academic success of our students. 
While we have made progress in the 70 years 
since the landmark Brown decision, we still 
have a considerable amount of work to do and 
we need all hands on deck, and notably yours! 
Once again, our conference partners thank you 
for your active participation and we look forward 
to working with you closely in the future.
